From Goose Island Beer Co. (Chicago, founded 1988). An IPA bridging English tradition with American hop innovation.
A pioneer of Chicago's craft scene. Goose Island IPA bridges English IPA tradition and American hop forward style.
Founded in 1988 by John Hall in Chicago, Illinois. Goose Island opened up Chicago's craft scene and produced historic beers like Bourbon County Stout. Acquired by AB InBev in 2011.
English IPA malt body combined with American hops (Cascade, Centennial) for citrus aroma. Not extreme bitterness — malt and hops coexist in balance. ABV 5.9%, IBU 55.
Excellent with Chicago deep-dish pizza, BBQ, buffalo wings, and burgers. Versatile enough for Japanese yakitori or karaage too.
Serve at 8-10°C in a tulip or nonic pint. In Chicago, try Bourbon County Stout alongside.
Now under AB InBev but continues innovation from its Chicago base. Beyond IPA: 312 Urban Wheat Ale, Bourbon County Stout (limited barrel-aged series).
