From Coedo Brewery in Kawagoe, Saitama. A delicate, clear pilsner named “Ruri” (lapis lazuli) for its golden hue.
Coedo names its beers after traditional Japanese colors. Ruri — the deep azure that reflects gold — embodies the ideal pilsner.
Coedo's philosophy: “beer with color.” The lineup uses Japanese traditional color names — Ruri, Kyara, Shikkoku, Beniaka, Shiro — each a distinct style.
Tastefully hopped with noble hops. Clean, refined bitterness, gentle malt sweetness, lingering finish. Highly rated in European and American competitions as a European pilsner. ABV 5.0%.
Excellent with tempura, salt-grilled white fish, sushi, yudofu, and other lightly salted dishes. The gentle character supports delicate flavors. Especially well-suited to Japanese cuisine among craft beers.
Serve at 5-7°C. A clear pilsner glass shows off the golden hue. Pour slowly to build a 1.5 cm creamy white head.
