Yebisu Premium Black combines deep roasted aroma with mellow sweetness for a dark beer that's approachable rather than heavy.
Overturns the “dark beer is bitter and heavy” stereotype. Built to Yebisu's premium standards, this is a luxurious dark lager.
One of Yebisu's regular premium variants. 100% malt with roasted barley, balancing Yebisu's signature malt richness with the toasty character of a dark beer. ABV 5.5%.
Roasted aroma is present but bitterness stays restrained. Hints of chocolate and caramel sweetness; surprisingly clean on the finish. Unlike heavier stouts (Guinness, etc.), this is the model of an approachable dark beer.
Excellent with roast beef, demi-glace dishes, and chocolate desserts. Surprisingly compatible with cheesecake and chocolate cake — a fine after-dinner beer. Also pairs with Japanese kabayaki (grilled eel).
Serve slightly warmer (8-10°C) to release aromas. A wide-bottomed glass enhances the bouquet. Better as an after-dinner relaxation beer than a first round.
Founded in Hokkaido in 1876. Strong premium line led by Yebisu. The Yebisu series serves as Sapporo's experimentation lab for richer flavor profiles.
Especially recommended as a first dark beer for those who think they don't like them. Find places serving Yebisu Premium Black on Minnama.
