Ichiban Shibori Stout combines Kirin's first-press method with roasted malt — toasty character without the heavy mouthfeel of typical stouts.
Easy to recommend to drinkers wary of dark beer. The first-press wort method delivers a clean, light-bodied stout-style lager.
Like the standard Ichiban Shibori, only the naturally first-pressed wort is used. Roasted (dark-kilned) malt is added to provide toastiness while keeping the body light. ABV 5.0%.
Roasted aroma without weight. Subdued bitterness, supported by malt sweetness from the first-press wort. The clean finish makes it an easy companion to food.
Excellent with yakitori (tare), steak, hamburg steak, cheese fondue, and chocolate. The roasted character layers onto charred dishes for satisfying combinations.
Serve at 6-8°C to enjoy the roasted aroma. A clear glass shows off the deep ruby-brown color. Equally good in bottle or can.
Founded 1907. This stout extends the Ichiban Shibori family, applying Kirin's signature method to a different style.
