Sekinoichi Sake Brewery in Ichinoseki (founded 1894) added beer brewing in 1996. The Iwate Kura brand uses local Iwate ingredients in craft beer. The sansho ale is its experimental flagship.
Belgian-style ale with added sansho. Citrus and spicy sansho aromas, malt sweetness, slight numbing finish. ABV 5.0%. Designed for Japanese cuisine pairing.
Excellent with unagi kabayaki, tempura, yakitori (sansho-dusted), yudofu, and sashimi. The sansho spice elevates the food and expands Japanese pairing range.
