Launched in 1888 by Japan Brewery (later Kirin) as “Kirin Beer.” As the lager style took hold, it became known as Kirin Lager. The brand stands near the very origin of Japan's commercial beer industry.
Unlike most modern Japanese beers, which are unpasteurized (nama), Kirin Lager retains traditional heat pasteurization. This gives it long shelf stability and a distinctive malt richness. ABV 5.0%.
