Launched in 2024, Hare-kaze combines wind-like lightness with hop aroma — Kirin's new-generation Japanese lager.
Built for the “light yet characterful” palate of the 2020s — a candidate to become Kirin's new flagship.
Released in April 2024 — a relatively new brand. The concept: “the wind-like lightness you want on a sunny day.” Integrates craft-style aromas while keeping the approachability of a major-brand lager.
Uses Ibuki, a rare Japanese hop. Subtle citrus and floral notes; clean finish. Malt plays a supporting role, letting the hop personality shine. ABV 5.0%.
Pairs with salads, hiyashi-chuka (cold ramen), white fish carpaccio, and lemon-driven dishes. Brightens light cuisine. Year-round drinkable but shines in spring and summer.
Serve well-chilled at 5-7°C. A slim tumbler with a brisk pour releases the aromas. Best as a refreshing first round.
Founded 1907. Beyond traditional lines (Ichiban Shibori, Lager), Kirin pursues younger drinkers with new brands like Hare-kaze and Spring Valley.
