Suntory's premium lager combines diamond malt and aromatic hops for a rich, floral profile. Famous for its “kami-awa” foam, it's Japan's go-to reward beer.
Known affectionately as “Premol,” The Premium Malt's offers concentrated malt richness and bouquet of hops — a beer for treating yourself.
Launched in 1989 as Suntory Malts Super Premium and reborn in 2003 under its current name, this beer uses Czech Saaz hops and Diamond Malt (European two-row barley) for a luxurious aroma and palate.
Floral aromas reminiscent of muscat grape, firm malt richness, and a lingering touch of sweetness on the finish. ABV is 5.5%, slightly higher than typical lagers, giving it weight and substance.
Excellent with roast beef, steak, prosciutto, and blue cheese. It also pairs well with French or Italian course menus, sometimes substituting for white wine.
Since 2018, Suntory has promoted its kami-awa (divine foam) server, which uses ultrasonic waves to create a creamy, long-lasting head. At home, a foaming cup achieves a comparable effect.
Founded in 1899 as a comprehensive beverage company. Beer was a relatively late addition (1963), but Suntory now produces Premium Malt's, The Malt's, Fragrant Ale, and Suntory Draft Beer.
